No dia 30 de junho, inauguramos a série “Leituras Vivas” com o romance Pés de Barro, de Nuno Duarte (Prémio Leya 2024). A obra é um retrato dinâmico e vivo do Portugal de 1962, cruzando o pátio operário de Alcântara, os paradoxos da ditadura e o erguer da ponte sobre o Tejo.

Frequentou o Mestrado em Literaturas Modernas Contemporâneas, tendo estudado, com especial interesse, a obra de Vergílio Ferreira. [EN] Tools for your Longevity: A quarterly literary gathering for debate and conversation dedicated to a book. Because some books change us, and some encounters expand our lives.

On June 30th, we launch our “Living Readings” series with the novel Pés de Barro by Nuno Duarte (Leya Prize 2024). The book offers a dynamic portrait of 1960s Portugal, weaving together the working-class courtyards of Alcântara, the paradoxes of the regime, and the construction of the bridge over the Tagus River.

At LOUNGEVITA Club, we stimulate the mind without rush. If you don’t finish the book in time (or haven’t even started it), come anyway! Featured Expert: Cláudia Tomás Moitas holds a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures. She pursued a Master’s in Modern and Contemporary Literatures, focusing her research on the works of Vergílio Ferreira. She is the founder of @Clle.pt, a project dedicated to literary curation and the promotion of reading.
